This is a place for me to share writings I come up with from writing prompts. This could be both original writings and fanfic. I'll try to post several times a week. In November, I'll share my NaNoWriMo experience as well.

NaNoWriMo 2014, Day 19

I'm almost caught up!! Wrote 3405 words today bringing my total to 30436, only about 1k behind! Which means that tomorrow I'll be completely caught up!!  I have a huge write in on Saturday. I'm really hoping to be close to winning by then. Let's see if I can write about 10k between now and then, and then I definitely think I'll get close to winning while at the write in!  Here's the excerpt:

Evelyn groaned, hiding her face in his chest as her cheeks flamed, “Oh my god, kill me now,” she whined.
Patrick laughed. “It’s okay, love. I’m sure he won’t say anything too embarrassing.”
“That’s it, I’m never leaving this room. You guys are on your own. Come and get me when it’s time for my plane to leave in three weeks.”
“What?” Patrick said, sobering up. “You’ve booked a plane?”
Evelyn moved back and looked at him. “Yeah, I’m pretty sure I told you sometime in that week you were refusing to talk. My program rescheduled me for the middle of July. I fly to Athens from here in just about three weeks.”
“Oh,” Patrick said.
“Hey,” Evelyn said. “You knew that I would have to leave eventually.”
“Yeah, I know,” Patrick said, flatly. “I’ve just never really thought about you actually leaving.”
“Well, I don’t leave for almost a month, Patrick. Let’s make the most of the time we do have together. As…companions.”
“Yes, companions,” Patrick said, absentmindedly.
“For the record, I’m starting to wish I didn’t have to go,” she said quietly.

Patrick wrapped his arms around her, pulling her closer to him until her head was in the crook of his neck. “I wish you didn’t have to leave, too.”
