Patrick looked at the sleeping girl on his shoulder, and then looked up at James, who just shrugged.
“I told you, she was tired,” James said.
Patrick sighed, and looked down at her again. He almost shook her awake, but decided he wouldn’t be that cruel. She was only here because he had insisted she needed to be here. If he hadn’t, she would be back at the flat, sleeping soundly in his bed. He shifted his arm, trying not to wake her, until it was around her shoulders, he scooted his body a couple inches to the left until their sides were touching. He pulled her toward him until her head rested in the crook of his neck, and she relaxed again. He looked up to see James looking at him, eyebrows raised.
